When hope calls for a fight
Thursday, May 20, 2010
I hate to say this, but give thaksin and the red shirts a break.

Bangkok is burning and the death toll is rising.

They call the redshirts thaksin's supporters and they blame thaksin for the mess bangkok is in now. That got me agitated.

Do you really think that any citizen in the right mind would do this to their country for a man? They were fighting for their rights, a better future, and the government needs to see who's causing the hurt. Im saddened by the violence and the loss but a slum life is no life.

Why cant Thaksin be shopping for a LV bag in Paris while all these chaos are happening? Will it make you feel any better if i say he's squatting by some roadside stall buying fake burberry?

In Accounting, I was taught not to consider sunk costs in deciding on a purchase. Similarly, it does not matter what Thaksin is doing now because the fight's never about him. If Thaksin has done wrong, it be for the fact that he once alleviated rural poverty and led the poor in believing that hope will never cease to exist.

I know it's ironic but i dont see any wrong in fighting for peace. As every min ticks by, we are one closer to death. If we have to die anyhow, why not for a cause that will seek to improve the lives of the ones left behind. I'm certainly not for the idea of suicide bombers but for the ones who are constantly working to improve the world.

Im not heartless but hope is something worthy of the fight.
