How far can you advance when floating is all that you have got
Thursday, February 17, 2011
have been going out every day. life's good and its been a long long while since i felt down.

and yes, credit that to my change in perspective. I am not taking any aspect of work seriously anymore. I have learnt to defend and defy.

We are often tasked to work independently and thus, we always laugh at ourselves for having to 'swim' amongst the many assigned workpapers. Then, someone told me lately that most of us do not swim, we simply float around.

The difference? The word 'Swimming' encompasses some fighting spirit in it and floating doesnt. She's absolutely right.

We float. Auditors float. We move with the tides and never bother seeking new heights. We dont know where we are heading most of the time and harbour the hope that we eventually weather the storm and the test of time to dock at some place decent. Decent? Then you ask, what constitutes decency and i say nobody cares and nobody thinks a step ahead of floating.

I started off as an avid swimmer, determined to be different. Then that passion withered and discontentment grew with time, knowing that you can fight one hiccup but you cant pit yourself against circumstances.

a friend told me that she's happy with audit because she knows she can do well in it. Its awesome to do good in what you do. Sure, it is. but how could anyone leave fulfillment outta the running for a career grand slam?

You can float and find yourself cruising through life or you could fight and end up with more bruises than victories but say you have lived life.

I dont care if its gonna take hell to find heaven.

I dont float .
